Babymoon

Justin and I didn't properly celebrate our anniversary (unless Pink's hot dogs count) so with all Justin's hard-earned US OPEN tips he took me to San Diego. We got a great rate at the W Hotel downtown in the Gaslamp District. We had a nice steak dinner and relaxed at the hotel's "beach away from the beach" rooftop (2nd floor really) bar.

Wednesday we woke up early and drove out to the Wild Animal Park. It was so cool there! We really wanted to feed the giraffe's on a photo-caravan tour but we couldn't wait till 2:45 p.m. We saw tons of animals, Justin was a great photographer, and we walked a LOT (Can you tell I'm trying to coax Jackson out early...he he).

After that we went to Del Mar race track, where Justin had never been before. We did win/place/show bets on a few horses (or course I pick them by their name only). We only won once the whole day on a place bet of $2 so we got $4.40. Until...the last race. We bet on a horse called Wolf Tail with 17 to 1 odds. We did win/place/show for $6. Poor Wolfy was losing the whole time, until the final stretch where he came back from the back and won by a nose. Yeah! So we got $54 and walked away a winner (my Vegas strategy...right Mom?).

We went down to Pacific Beach for Mexican Food at Gringos because I LOVE their cheese dip, Meagan stopped by to say hi, and then we were back at the W by 9:00. Exhausted. On the way home we stopped in San Clemente for lunch at Nick's Deli and then back to HB...back to reality. It was so fun to get away, and also realizing this was probably the last trip without packing along Jackson for awhile (18 days to go). It's getting close and each day I wonder if today will be the day. He hasn't dropped yet, so who knows, he'll probably stay for awhile longer and give me time to totally organize his room (today's project). Wish me luck!

  1. Super cute, I'm glad you guys got to have a babymoon because you're right-it's going to be a lot harder to travel with Jackson! You look great BTW. 16 days and counting-OMG! xxxx

  2. You two are so freaking cute! Jackson is going to be one lucky baby to have you and Justin as parents.
