Dear Jen...

Due to the fabulous time difference we have between us this will most likely reach you on YOUR birthday, July 17th. Ashley did such a great job summing up the amazing woman you are. I love you for my own reasons as well. I remember the day my parents dropped me off at WSU and seeing you there in your khaki overalls and a bouquet of flowers from a suitor of yours (one of the many who longed to be yours). I was sad to be left alone, but instantly became drawn to you, as I know a lot of people are. We made trips to Shopko and listened to Brandy's "On Top of the World." I remember debriefing about Rush with you and on bid day opening our cards and running not just to Delta Gamma, but to each other. I knew it would be a lasting friendship.

We have endured a lot of ups and downs throughout our friendship which is now 11 years in the making. I remember watching the news happen on 9-11 in my bedroom at the Ashtray together, and how you helped carry my stuff into my U-Haul as I prepared to move to California. Your friendship means so much to me. I remember talking to you as you first revealed you were preggers to the world, and you told me that "no one is ever ready for a baby or in the perfect spot." I think we started trying that same week and SURPRISE it took about that long. I wish I had been able to see you when you were pregnant and ESPECIALLY now that you are a new mommy. I would have given anything to be there to welcome Calum at the hospital.

I don't know exactly when our paths will cross again, hopefully we are able to get up there in October. I think of you pretty much daily, usually swearing under my breath that I can't call you because I missed the time zone and it'd be too late. I love you friend. Your friendship means the world to me. Happy Birthday.

Love Me

  1. I love you! Can you believe it's going on 11 years in August? Where has the time gone? We have had so many memories together and whilst in this period of our lives we don't get to have those times together, I know we will again someday. I know how hard it is to not be there for this stage in our lives but am so happy for you and Justin and if we don't get to see you in October will definitely find some way to meet little Jackson before too long. Thank you so much for thinking of me, miss you lots and wish we could celebrate together.
P.S. I hate you for posting a few of those pics-gross!
