Jackson has been a perfect little man this week. He does eat A LOT, almost every 2-3 hours 4 oz. each time...maybe that's why when Justin and I weighed him last night he was 12.6 lbs. He's a big boy and love all his little folds of fat. He's loving baths and his swing (yeah!).
Wednesday he did have his tongue clipped because the string underneath is (farnella...sp?) was attached too far forward. Justin and his sister had the same thing when they were born. The ENT did the procedure in about 5 seconds, I couldn't bear to watch. Mr. Jackson cried for just a few seconds...trooper. Since then it's been really fun to watch him blow spit bubbles and discover his tongue. He didn't used to be able to even stick it out, now he can.
Only 2 more weeks till I go back to work. I have to do the Back to School Night presentation tomorrow night and Brooke, my room mom and friend, is going to babysit him for just over 2 hours. It'll be his first time without me and Justin. I'm sure he'll do great...will I? What will I do without our mornings together, mid-day baths and naps on my chest, and of course my photo shoots I put him through. :) I'm so thankful that Justin is able to be a stay-at-home daddy during the day and work at night. He's been amazing as a daddy so far and I'm falling in love with both my boys more each day.
p.s. Can't wait till my mom gets here tomorrow night for the weekend. :) And thank you Auntie Jen for Jackson's board shorts. California decided to have ANOTHER HEAT WAVE. I'm over the heat officially.
LOVE the board shorts. Too cute! And thanks for the dinner recommendation. I think we'll definitely check it out!
ReplyDeleteOh he's just so cute!! So glad to hear he's doing better for you. Sorry you have to go back to work soon, but it's so great that Justin gets to stay at home with him! That's great..Mr Mom!
ReplyDeleteTara he is darling. Those little fat folds on their legs and wrists are the absolute best. Keep up the good work, you are doing great!
ReplyDeleteI love his shorts, so cute! I know it's hard to dress them when it's so hot and bet he has tons of cute clothes just waiting to be modeled! At 4 weeks Calum was 10lbs 5oz (Calum has always followed the 91st percentile so little J must be at least there or higher!), like Ash I love his little folds and rolls. Also love to see him sticking his tongue out, you were both very brave to get through his second snip ;). Of course it will be hard to leave Jackson, but just think of how great it will be to come home and see him afterwards. It's like that feeling of excitement you have when you come home after not seeing Abby for awhile only 100 times better! Justin is going to be an amazing stay at home Dad and you two are lucky to be able to have this set up so that you both get to enjoy every precious second with your gorgeous little baby. Have tons of fun with your Mom this weekend, love you x
ReplyDeleteThat is so great that Justin can stay at home with him - that must alleviate so much anxiety for you! Sad to hear about having to get his little tongue snipped! Makena actually has a short frenulum too....we haven't clipped it though because she hasn't had any problems latching on...now I'm worried that because we didn't clip it, she will have a speech impedement! Isn't it amazing how many things there are to worry about when you become a mommy?
ReplyDeleteTara!!
ReplyDeleteYou are becoming quite the artistic photographer these days! Love the pics! I wish I could drive over there and stay with that adorable little nephew of mine.
Love the updates, keep em coming!
xoxoxo,
Nat J
Love his little shorts! He is seriously such a cute little guy - definitely all boy :) Glad to hear that his baby tongue is healing well - my sister had the same thing done to her.
