We have been working hard on the nursery. Pretty much right when I got pregnant I was thinking of what my baby's nursery would look like and scoured the web trying to get an idea. I loved the chocolate brown / light blue colors for a boy and I really liked all the turtle bedding. I may have gone a bit crazy buying everything in the set, but it really looks cute all together.
Justin finally hopped on the nursery bandwagon a few weeks ago. He is so crafty and I am lucky to have a husband that is good with construction. He TOTALLY took over. Justin got paint from Home Depot that is safe and matched the bedding exactly, he did detailing on the walls, and had fancy, soft carpet installed (we had hardwood before). I helped paint the detailing and letters, he did the majority of the painting (even the ceiling got a few new coats of paint). J thought the brown needed to be broken up so even painted a few panels light brown.
Last weekend when my mom was here and Dett came down the ladies carried the changing table, chair, and ottoman back (cleavage and all) to the room from the garage and it started looking more like a nursery. This week Justin put the curtains up after I got them hemmed, he build the crib and we put on the washed bedding, and he installed the shelf my mom got us.
The only things I left are to hang Jackson's wooden letters above his crib, install the crown molding on the ceiling around the nursery, and get a white wardrobe instead of the one I've been using of Meagan's. Abby seems to like the room because she thinks it's for her ("the baby") and I LOVE it....can't wait to fill it with baby Jackson.
TARA!! Your nursery is gorgeous! It looks like it's out of a magazine. Can't believe how great the paint/walls turned out. Love the name Jackson too - and spelling. Now all that's left is to have the little bugger....waiting is the worst! Love you!
ReplyDeleteTara - I love the nursery, but of course it's going to be amazing considering your mad Skillz. Your little belly bump is so cute, continue posting the pics.
