Summer School

A friend of mine, Jen Yamabe, talked me into applying to teach summer school (June 22-July 22) with her. She would teach 2 weeks and then I would teach 2 weeks. I have taught summer school before and not loved it so much just because as a teacher you really want a break by that point. However it is only from 8-12 M-F and only a month so I can't really complain...but I will.

After we applied a TOSA (vice principle/data/testing) 2 week position opened and Jen asked if I wouldn't mind if she applied for it. I said no problem because I doubted they would just take me solo to teach summer school. With the budget/economy this year we had SO many applicants for the 2-3 open teaching positions for summer school.

Needless to say, I interviewed with Jen the day I found out I was having a boy, right after. We got a letter today and....

"We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to teach summer school."

I ran to Jen's classroom and she got the TOSA! So it looks like I'll be teaching summer school for the full 4 weeks. Ha Ha!!!!!! It was hard to get me to agree to 2 weeks since I'll be huge by that point, but this is probably a blessing in disguise I was chosen since it's an additional month's salary (we get a 10 month salary as teachers).

Do you think I should tell HR I'm preggers now? Ha!
