The month of April was a complete blur. We started off strong with Dana's birthday and my birthday overnighter with Justin and kept going.

Spring break in Havasu was so fun (prior post), but as we drove in from Havasu I picked up Erin (my best friend since 5th grade from the "Ham" (Bellingham)) and my other friend Amber. I hosted them around the OC to see the Wedge surfing spot, Fashion Island, beach cruiser rides to the pier and eating at Dukes, but we needed some warmer sun so we headed out to Palm Springs for the night. We got in good pool time, Jackson got his baby tan on, and we had good sushi (random great sushi in the desert).

On Sunday we joined Justin's parents and sister out at their house for an Easter Egg hunt for Jackson and a delicious Easter dinner. Jackson was overjoyed to ride (parked in the garage) Papa's motorcycle. We are truck, bike, and motorcycle (bi-cle says Jackson) crazy here right now.

I worked a few weekend shifts at the Main Street Wine Bar in Seal Beach which gave me a little spending money for my mom and seester Shelby flying in on Wednesday. We shopped and dined and Shelby was my Royal Reader at school where Jackson made another appearance and played with all his Preppie-K admirers for part of Friday Fun Day. Then Saturday morning Dett, Shelby, Mom, Justin, Alex, and I headed out to Palm Springs.

We quickly checked into our hotel and headed to the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio for Stagecoach. We had SO much fun running around on the acres of grass, hitting the beer gardens, dancing and singing along to our favorite country groups, but more than anything: PEOPLE WATCHING. People go ALL out for country concerts and there was a lot of skanks and cowboys and it was awesome. Jackson was a trooper and he seemed to have a lot of fun running away from us, dancing, eating bad food, and rolling in his wagon. We saw Steel Magnolias, Darius Rucker, Kenny Chessney, Carrie Underwood, and Rascall Flats. It was for sure the craziest and most patriotic place to hear about the death of Osama Bin Laden. U-S-A was shouted from thousands of All American hill billies and us of course.

Everyone flew out Monday...I went back to school for Teacher Appreciation Week. Not too bad to go back to work to flowers, cards, and gifts and yesterday I threw the annual Mother's Day Tea for the awesome mommies in my class. It has been a whirlwind and I am exhausted but so excited for this weekend and the minimal plans that have been made.

Great memories....lots of laughs....and a few pics to remember
