Spring Break!

Checking out my toy box.
Prunes face.
Baby Charlie Brown in his new octagon playpen.
Standing at the beach with Daddy.
In my red wagon.
Mommy kisses.
Brrr....do it again Daddy.
First steps in the ocean.
Crawl. Eat sand. Crawl.

I love being a teacher because the perks are you get spring and summer vacation. After the amazing birthday festivities Justin had a lot of time off too. We dined on Lebanese food with Justin's parents and sister on Monday, cooked dinner at home on Tuesday, went to the beach early then had Natalie and Dett over for BBQ pork chops and margaritas on Wednesday, visited Justin at work on Thursday, and had friends over for BBQ again (carne asada/potatoes/green beans) on Friday, and this Saturday and Sunday are pure laziness, catching up on T-Vo and my blog. I took time off and cleaned my house, cooked homemade hummus and curry chicken salad and snuggled Jackson all day and night long. It was much needed and I don't want it to end.

My favorite day was Wednesday...It was 80 at the beach with no wind which rarely happens and it was only this nice weather for 2 days of spring break. We packed up for a beach picnic, which takes a lot longer now with a baby than before and did our first family outing to the beach. Jackson has the awesome fold-up red wagon he rolls down to the beach in and Abby loves playing catch and swimming (even with strangers after we are over it). I watched Jackson crawl in the sand, and try to eat it constantly (which makes for lack of pictures), Justin took him in the water and he loved it and I loved changing him immediately after in the sunshine thank goodness (what prepared mom would bring another change of clothes to the beach??? not me). We had a picnic and Jackson showed us how he can stand in the wagon (took a nice header out of it) and on the cooler. It's amazing in this week he crawls and stands everywhere--all the time. Jackson was the only one smart enough to wear 70 SPF so he didn't get burned like mom and dad. :)

Friday night we had Dana, Ben, Theresa over and made yummy dinner. Around midnight Jackson started screaming in pain and couldn't be consoled. My friend Theresa said her son acted like this when he was constipated so we took J for his first trip to the ER. Of course he stopped crying instantly when we got there, which made us low on the priority list. It was not fun staying there till almost 3 a.m. but Jackson's funk passed on it's own and they only gave us a prescription for a suppository. He got to eat lots of prunes and drank some watered down apple juice. Happy boy again.

Last funny thing...last night I put a load of laundry in and left Jackson alone in his nursery to crawl around. When I came back after probably one minute I heard him talking to himself in the bathroom. He crawled out of his room, down the hall, into the bathroom, and stood up at the bathtub. I now realize my life is over and it's time to child-proof my house--do you just stop having anything under 4 feet on the ground. Ha ha.

Wish me luck...I'm starting Biggest Loser with my teachers at school tomorrow. I guess you pay $5 to start and they weigh you in--then if you gain a pound you pay $2--who knows maybe something will motivate me to stop snuggling Jackson and get me arse back into shape.
