So really quick, Justin just let me know about his day at work. He's doing a job for a school teacher friend of mine, Melanie, at her house installing baseboards, new slider, etc. Melanie had a great big dog Yogi and Abby has been welcomed over before when we've gone for dinner. Justin brought Abby today who usually stays in the area, chews on wood, or sniffs around all day. Well today for hours she was in a bush, and would only come out for a quick bark when Justin called her, and then go back to her bush. At the end of the day when Melanie got home, Abby emerged with a half eaten tortoise shell with no turtle inside! Justin feels horrible! We don't know IF Abby truly gobbled up the turtle or if it is hibernating (shell-less?) underground. Any how, Melanie had to tell her daughters it was merely hibernating and we are now on the hunt for a new tortoise. Oh kids (dog kids)!
Oh my gosh! You guys are so funny! Abby did not eat TJ! We have the shell and it's completely empty. Abby just FOUND the empty shell. We have another tortoise (Rascal) that is much bigger and will stay hibernated for awhile longer. Please tell Abby she is welcome here anytime!
